Didn't know I had it in me

I'm finding more and more out about myself. Last year I stunned myself with my bravery in facing down an amorous Boar (1,000 pounds) and a mean sow (800 pounds) ready to tear a leg off. Then I managed to install a new printer/copier/scanner/fax/submarine with no help from everyone. Today, I shocked myself with my driving ability.
Younger son and I had dropped his new car off at the dealership and were heading off for breakfast. There I was zipping along in the far lane when some blind idiot pulled out of a parking lot and across two lanes right to where I was. I don't know how I did it but I avoided it. I'm not talking hitting the brakes and stopping, I'm talking hitting the brakes, sliding, throwing the wheel one way, sliding even more, then out and around into the opposite oncoming lane, no cars heading my way thank god, and somehow back into the lane where I belonged while blind idiot just went on her merry way without a clue that someone could have been killed. Younger son helped, warning me at first about the car, which is why I slowed and then yelling at me to get my foot off the brake so I could stop my slide. When it was all over he looked and me and wondered aloud if his adreneline was broken because it hadn't kicked in at all. I suppose I had more than enough adrenaline pumping for the both of us. Thinking back I do NOT have an idea of how I managed what I did. But I did it. Instinct is a lovely thing.
Younger son drove back after breakfast. I have no idea what happened to blind idiot and considering I would have creamed her driver's side, she missed getting really hurt by the skin of her teeth and my determination NOT to hit her. Whew.
The farm starts in two weeks. Gird your loins for there will be PIG STORIES. Can we say sooooeeeee?
