what the?

Heard on TV on DIY
'replace your kitchen cabinets with the best there is. CRAPMADE kitchens and baths' Hey I already have CRAPMADE cabinets... you can tell by the missing handles and the crooked drawers.

'the nut is stuck so grab a WENCH and give it a go'

"if you are taking nsaids or the elderly this medicine isn't for you." Yep them elderly always tend to get stuck in my throat

thought this meant something it didn't.

Seen on a local newspaper home page.
A small square on the right side with two young men with smouldering looks and a headline... free single of the week... and smaller at the bottom of the square ... Holy Ghost....

WOW the Holy Ghost is single AND is free for the week. Sometimes I make my
head hurt.

But this is the best and I swear this is absolutely true because it happened to the Husband and since he is not the imaginative type I KNOW he didn't make it up... though it does sound like something that would come from me.

His car wouldn't start so he called the tow guy who, when he arrived, asked if the husband had lights. The husband got into the car to see and the thing started. Then the tow guy says that sometimes the security system on the car does that and if it does you have to ...AND I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP... lock and unlock it three times and try to start the car five times. (hop on one foot, stand on your head and squirt nickles out of your nose... ok so I added this part) Apparently the security system of the Husband's car was installed by a wizard.

sigh

I've told both sons about the foreclosure. Both offered all of the money they have but it won't be enough. We do have a couple of checks due in that will take care of the problem but one check was mailed last Wednesday from Virginia and had still NOT arrived and the other is proceeds from a settlement that is supposed to take place tomorrow. Still I worry because mostly that is what I do the best. Luckily, if luck features at all, I know how to keep us in this house for 5 or more months after the auction. All without us having to pay any rent or mortgage. I pray to god it does not come to that.

It finally happened

My greatest fear has been realized. Our house is in foreclosure. I'm numb right now, too sad to cry. It's not so much losing the house but what it all means. Who'd want to rent to us since the husband and I work in our own, unsuccesful business and while I could get a job somewhere, I doubt he could. He tends to be rather opinionated and it has worked against him. Oldest son lives at home and has no transportation of his own. His boss now picks him up each morning but the boss lives around the corner. If we don't live here any more would older son still have a job? Younger son does our data entry for us (we are laughingly foreclosure consultants) should I warn him that he'll find our names and address on the list he gets from the courthouse? I've 3 cats and 2 dogs, one dog 75+ pounds. Who'd want to rent to us?
Of course, the husband says don't worry. He says he has deals cooking that should allow us to pay all of our back bills. But he's been saying that for weeks and still no $$$$ in the coffers. Or, at least not enough to help.
But I do have all of my Thanksgiving food and will simply look no further than thursday. Who knows, maybe our guardian angels will fly to our rescue yet again.
